Open House

On August 1st ordering from the Seasonal Catalog will start!  I am so excited!  There are tons of great products and ideas.  I decided to have an Open House on the 3rd to display some of the products and samples.  I will also have My Digital Studio up so visitors can see how this great program works hands on.  I will have door prizes, snacks and refreshments. 

So tonight I am busy getting things in order.  I have made several prizes and card samples already.  The Make and Take tag and card are ready.

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday was my parents 40th Anniversary!  I am so blessed to have a great role model of what love and sacrifice is!  I made them this gift card holder card to help them celebrate.  I have also entered it in the Late Night Stampers Challenge 222.  I hope you all have a very happy Mother's Day!

When I woke up this morning I checked my email and was surprised by the number of congratulatory emails I had received.  It took a while, but I finally found the source.  An email announcing I was one of three recipients of the Late Night Stampers Heart Award.  Deborah Smart www.stampandcreate.net and Jackie Watson http://jackielwatson.blogspot.com are the other two lucky ladies.  Please go to their blogs and congratulate them.  This award is given to members who go above and beyond to care and share with their fellow late night stampers.  What is Late Night Stampers?  It is a group of demonstrators on Stampin' Connection, Stampin' Up's online community forum exclusively for demonstrators.  It is a great source of information, inspiration and encouragement.  Let me know if you would like information on how you can join us.

When Bleach Goes Right.

I am sure everyone has at least one bad run in with the bleach.  Usually it does not end will.  Tomorrow I am going to show my customers, friends and family how to use bleach for making cards!  I am so excited!  I used the Stampin' Spritzer filled with bleach and lightly sprayed the Basic Gray card stock base and the Rich Razzleberry flower from the Fun Flowers Bigz Die.  Love the look the bleach gives you. 

Here in Kansas City we have a very busy weekend.  We are having the Big 12 Conference downtown as well as the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday.  But most importantly my sister and her daughters are coming in from out of town!  I can't wait to see them.  They even get to come to my make and take on Sunday.  I hope everyone has a fun, safe weekend!

Here’s how to play:
-go to the page (listed at the top of my blog) titled ‘LNS Web Ring’

Sympathy

A family friend recently had an aunt pass away. This is the card I sent her for her loss.

Working on Birthdays

Although I liked my last birthday card, I was thinking it was not really what I wanted for my son for his birthday.  I think I am getting close with this one. 



This picture was taken of our King Charles Caviler, Molly and foster puppy Cora.  It officially snowed 9" here in Kansas City with many places receiving more than 12".  We received 10" at our house and Molly and Max love it!  Max is the cocker spaniel.  I love his goofy look.

How Do You Prepare for a Snow Day or Two?

Here in Kansas City we are currently experiencing snow.  We are expected to receive over 12" of the powdery white stuff.  My children are so excited!  I thought that I would prepare by making a couple of cards.  So last night these are what I created.

This on might be my oldest sons birthday card.  I can't decide if I want to make another one or not. 

I love how simple these are.  Midnight Muse is my favorite In Color 2012-2014 color!  (Mostly because I love the color blue but it is just great.)

I hope to go to the craft room and create more today!

So Glad to Be Back!

I am so glad to be feeling better.  For the past week and a half I have not been well but I am back to normal now!  These are a couple of card I worked on using the Sale-A-Bration set Feeling Sentimental and You're Amazing.  I love how these turned out.  I used Very Vanilla and Early Espresso Card Stock and Early Espresso Ink.

Featured February Technique

Final 4 for January

January 2013 Make and Take Preview

January is an exciting time for Stampin' Up.  We start the new Seasonal Catalog and on January 22nd the Sale-A-Bration sale.  In addition I have an exciting announcement on Saturday!  Above is a preview of some of what we will be creating on Saturday and Sunday.

Happy New Year

Today is the last day of 2012.  We will ring in the New Year with my parents this evening after playing card games and snacking on spinach dip and shrimp cocktail.  I hope to be in the craft room creating more in 2013.

Merry Christmas!

This week has been a whirlwind of Christmas gatherings.  It is always great to spend time with all of our family members.  Somehow we have managed to get all presents wrapped and cards made in the mist of the chaos.  This is the card I made for my mom and dad this year.  My mom loves things that are small and really enjoyed the easel card we made at the December make and take.  I saw this on a demonstrator website and had to try it.  It was fun to make and Mom loved it!  I hope you enjoy it too!

Grandma's Christmas Card

Today we got to visit my husband's grandmother.  I love her.  From the first time I met her she has been nothing but loving, warm and easy going.  She currently lives in a nursing home and likes to display the card and pictures she gets.  This year I was inspired to make her what I call a lantern card.  She will be able to display it and have a bit of light shining through.

Now I am working on cards for the other grandmas.  I hope to finish tomorrow and post them soon.

Each month 3 fellow demonstrators and I get together at a local Panera and make a couple of 3x3 card fronts.  We have a great time and get some great ideas for our customers!

Take a Pick

A customer wanted me to create a Christmas card for her using Christmas Lodge stamp set.  She gave me a basic idea of the look she was after.  I told her I would make up a couple and she could choose which one she wanted to make and I would let her know what she needed.  These are the ones that I came up with.

Cover Ornament

The ornament on the cover of the 2012 Holiday Mini Catalog from Stampin' Up is beautiful and easy to recreate.  I cut the ornaments and medallion a couple months ago but just got around to putting it together.  I love that you can make a handmade ornament for your Christmas tree or make a great gift!
