It's That Time of Year

It is that time of year when things settle down into their old routine.  School, Scouts and crafts around here.  With the arrival of fall I am currently preparing for a craft fair which will be held in November.  I know it might sound like it is a little early but I want to be prepared this year.  I would like to have more diversity in my card offerings than I had last year.  As a bonus my mom will be making knitted scarfs to sell so I am super excited. 

These are some of the ones you can expect to see. 

As you can see I love the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  See how different you can make the card by just using one stamp set? 

I hope to be able to post more of the card that will be available as well as the cards for my upcoming Make and Takes.

Prep and Ending

I am coming to the end of the prep for the Open House on Saturday.  Tonight I was able to knock out all but one of the cards I want to display.  Yesterday I finished prepping all the Make and Take supplies.  Tomorrow I will work on finishing displays, setting up and last minute things I am sure will come up.

I am so excited.  Here are some sneak peaks, door prizes and display cards.

I am having a great time preparing for my open house!  I am at the making samples stage and loving it!  It has been a while since I have been able to lock myself in my craft room and make cards and things.  Today I have made a charm and a card!

April Make and Take

I had a great time today stamping and making cards for my April Make and Take.  I taught them how to make two simple 3D flowers and they loved it. 

Next Thursday I will host a Paper Pumpkin Party and all of my customers who have ordered this great product will come and eat, drink and be crafty. 

Below is our dog Max.  He has the cutest tuft of hair we thought that we would try to put in a pony tail.  I am not sure what exactly he looks like but we thought it was super funny.

When Bleach Goes Right.

I am sure everyone has at least one bad run in with the bleach.  Usually it does not end will.  Tomorrow I am going to show my customers, friends and family how to use bleach for making cards!  I am so excited!  I used the Stampin' Spritzer filled with bleach and lightly sprayed the Basic Gray card stock base and the Rich Razzleberry flower from the Fun Flowers Bigz Die.  Love the look the bleach gives you. 

Here in Kansas City we have a very busy weekend.  We are having the Big 12 Conference downtown as well as the St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday.  But most importantly my sister and her daughters are coming in from out of town!  I can't wait to see them.  They even get to come to my make and take on Sunday.  I hope everyone has a fun, safe weekend!

So if you have seen my Mother's Day card you have seen where I got some of my scraps. I had some extra Pacific Point and Baja Breeze that were about the same size so.... With a bit of coloring and a blender pen this is what I came up with. Now I can't decide if I want to laminate it or use it now!

March Make and Take Preview

My March Make and Take on Saturday March 16 and Sunday March 17th will be featuring the Bleach Technique.  I am so excited!  I love the look the bleach gives the paper.  Here is a sneak peak.

Working on Birthdays

Although I liked my last birthday card, I was thinking it was not really what I wanted for my son for his birthday.  I think I am getting close with this one. 



This picture was taken of our King Charles Caviler, Molly and foster puppy Cora.  It officially snowed 9" here in Kansas City with many places receiving more than 12".  We received 10" at our house and Molly and Max love it!  Max is the cocker spaniel.  I love his goofy look.

How Do You Prepare for a Snow Day or Two?

Here in Kansas City we are currently experiencing snow.  We are expected to receive over 12" of the powdery white stuff.  My children are so excited!  I thought that I would prepare by making a couple of cards.  So last night these are what I created.

This on might be my oldest sons birthday card.  I can't decide if I want to make another one or not. 

I love how simple these are.  Midnight Muse is my favorite In Color 2012-2014 color!  (Mostly because I love the color blue but it is just great.)

I hope to go to the craft room and create more today!

So Glad to Be Back!

I am so glad to be feeling better.  For the past week and a half I have not been well but I am back to normal now!  These are a couple of card I worked on using the Sale-A-Bration set Feeling Sentimental and You're Amazing.  I love how these turned out.  I used Very Vanilla and Early Espresso Card Stock and Early Espresso Ink.

Final 4 for January

I finished the 4 card for this months Make and Take.  I tried  to have a variety and include one for Valentine's Day.  You saw the one for Valentine's Day in the previous post and a preview of an any occasion card.  Well, here it is completed and the final 2 cards.

January 2013 Make and Take Preview

January is an exciting time for Stampin' Up.  We start the new Seasonal Catalog and on January 22nd the Sale-A-Bration sale.  In addition I have an exciting announcement on Saturday!  Above is a preview of some of what we will be creating on Saturday and Sunday.

Happy New Year

Today is the last day of 2012.  We will ring in the New Year with my parents this evening after playing card games and snacking on spinach dip and shrimp cocktail.  I hope to be in the craft room creating more in 2013. 

Here are a couple of 3x3's that I made.  I will be making a bigger version of the car card for my youngest son for his birthday.

Merry Christmas!

This week has been a whirlwind of Christmas gatherings.  It is always great to spend time with all of our family members.  Somehow we have managed to get all presents wrapped and cards made in the mist of the chaos.  This is the card I made for my mom and dad this year.  My mom loves things that are small and really enjoyed the easel card we made at the December make and take.  I saw this on a demonstrator website and had to try it.  It was fun to make and Mom loved it!  I hope you enjoy it too!

Grandma's Christmas Card

Today we got to visit my husband's grandmother.  I love her.  From the first time I met her she has been nothing but loving, warm and easy going.  She currently lives in a nursing home and likes to display the card and pictures she gets.  This year I was inspired to make her what I call a lantern card.  She will be able to display it and have a bit of light shining through.

Now I am working on cards for the other grandmas.  I hope to finish tomorrow and post them soon.
