Winner!

When I woke up this morning I checked my email and was surprised by the number of congratulatory emails I had received. It took a while, but I finally found the source. An email announcing I was one of three recipients of the Late Night Stampers Heart Award. Deborah Smart www.stampandcreate.net and Jackie Watson http://jackielwatson.blogspot.com are the other two lucky ladies. Please go to their blogs and congratulate them. This award is given to members who go above and beyond to care and share with their fellow late night stampers. What is Late Night Stampers? It is a group of demonstrators on Stampin' Connection, Stampin' Up's online community forum exclusively for demonstrators. It is a great source of information, inspiration and encouragement. Let me know if you would like information on how you can join us.

Happy Fall Y'all

I love fall. I love the scents, the colors and the great comfort food. I am very excited to be making fall and Thanksgiving card for next months make and take. I have to say that being this prepared so far in advance is a first. I have to thank my wonderful family who have helped get my craft room in order. I have really enjoyed having the dedicated space to create and not worry about not having a place to eat because all my stamps, punches and paper are all over the dinning room table.

I love how the water color looks on the gold paper. I wish the camera had taken a better picture of the whole card. It looks more stark white in the picture than it is in person. It is really a confetti cream paper and looks wonderful with the colors from the leaf.

First try. I just painted Midnight Muse in the embossed image. I liked the sheer effect but then I had an idea.

This is the second one. I used Crystal Effects and a drop of Midnight Muse ink. I am thinking that I like this jar the most. Not finished with it yet but getting the rough layout together.

Ta Da!

This is my new creating space. I am waiting on my folding sewing table to be completed but the weather and our schedule has prevented that so far. I even started working on finishing my ornament that is pictured on the front cover of the Holiday Catalog!!!!!

This is the opposite wall.

This is the wall on the right when you walk in. We don't have cable so the TV is just decorative at this point. I think I will keep the doors off at least for now. I like having the stamps easy to see when I want to get an idea for what kind of card I want to make.

This is the future home of my dog bed. This is my crafting partner Luke. We foster kittens and cats and got Luke when he and his sister were 6 weeks old. I fell in love with his kitty kisses and hugs (Yes he wraps his paws around my neck like a hug.) and had to keep him. The dog bed is for our King Charles Caviler puppy who is now 6 months old and wants to be with one of us at all times.

This is the closet. I cracked out my labeler and now everything is easy to find.

I see light at the end of the tunnel

For what seems like years I have been working on making my craft room. I have had to wait on getting the flooring laid, wall painted - twice, refinishing the cabinets I bought at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store and installing the closet organizer. It is not completely finished. I think that there are some fine tuning little things that I will be working on. For example I am thinking of peg board, cork board and magnetic strip for above the counter top. (We couldn't install the cabinets like I wanted because there are no studs. Who would have thought? So had to go with plan B.) Today, my husband and father will finish a folding sewing table so I will be able to put that up. All in all it has been a productive weekend. I will work on cards and some commissioned pieces tonight. During the day, CLEANING!

August 2012 Make and Take!

It is Christmas in August for my make and take this month. In celebration of Stampin' Up's new holiday catalog all 4 cards we are making this month will be Christmas themed. Have you looked in the catalog? It is AMAZING!
