Everybody Has to Eat, Right?!

I created this weekly Menu for my grocery planning.  I plan about 2 weeks or more at a time.  It depends on how many days are in the pay period. I use the shopping list to only add the items we will need to make each meal and add snacks like apples, bananas and other things.  I use notes to remind me to check on the quantity of items I have on hand.  I also use the note section for any other things I want to remind myself of when shopping or preparing the meal.  Like make double to take to Missionary Family.  I have laminated mine and use it like a dry erase board.  If you have a family planner you could punch holes in it and keep it in your planner.  We have added magnetic tape on the back and hang it on the refrigerator.  I hope this simple Menu is able to help you and your family!

Hot Chocolate You Say?

It is that time of year that I make a batch of homemade hot chocolate.  My family loves having it all winter.  This year it made almost 11 quart jars full.  I sent a jar with my son and husband to scout camp this weekend.  I hope they share.

Recipe:

1 Bag Powder Sugar
1 lg Container Powdered Creamer
1 Box Instant Milk
3 Lg Boxes Chocolate Pudding
1 Container Hershey's Coco Powder
1 Container Nesquick Powder

Mix together and store in air tight containers.  To serve add 2 Tablespoons in cup of hot water and stir.  Add Marshmallows as desired.

Enjoy!

Meet Max

Molly all tuckered out from her day of play.

Max looking at Molly getting his second wind.
This week we might have added a new member to our family, Max.  Max is a Cocker Spaniel.  We are fostering him for a local rescue group and have fallen in love.  Molly, our King Charles Caviler, is having a ball playing and making a new friend.  We might have to keep him.  Now, if I can convince my hubby we will have it made!

October Fun in the Sun

I thought that it was about time I got some decent pictures of the kids so we can send out with our Christmas cards.  Here in KC we have been having some erratic weather so before a cold front came I took the kids and took some pictures.  They were not so pleased when I realized that after 1.5 hours the setting had been changed when my husband had last borrowed my camera.  So.... we went out again.  This time I had corrected the settings.  Here are some of the ones that we took.  I still have to Photoshop them and I like to add some filters and shading but thought that all in all they turned out ok for just being unedited.  Now, I will start a scrapbook that I have wanted to for quite some time.

The above is my oldest.  My beautiful daughter.  She was not happy but tried really hard.

This is my oldest son.  I have always thought that he was photogenic.  He does not get it from me!

This is my baby!  Let's just say the Tooth Fairy has been very busy at our house as he now has all 4 of his front teeth gone.  I love his little freckles.

I hope you are able to enjoy some great fall weather!

Everything Elanor

The theme for my October Make and Take is Thanks.  This will be the final card we will make for the event.  I love it!  It uses the Everything Elanor, Curly Cute stamp sets and the Oval Accent Bigz Clear Die.  I did use Dazzling Diamonds on the flowers to help them pop.  Hope you like it!

If you live in or around the Kansas City area and would like to attend one of my Make and Takes or schedule an event of your own, please feel free to contact me.  I would love to meet you!

Yet Another

This is a little change in the triple time stamping.  I cut out the leaves and used some twine that I had for the bow in the button.

I used Ridding Hood Red, Garden Green, Chocolate Chip and More Mustard inks.  The background paper is Ridding Hood Red.  I also used Very Vanilla and Early Espresso.

Happy Fall Y'all

I love fall.  I love the scents, the colors and the great comfort food.  I am very excited to be making fall and Thanksgiving card for next months make and take.  I have to say that being this prepared so far in advance is a first.  I have to thank my wonderful family who have helped get my craft room in order.  I have really enjoyed having the dedicated space to create and not worry about not having a place to eat because all my stamps, punches and paper are all over the dinning room table.

I love how the water color looks on the gold paper.  I wish the camera had taken a better picture of the whole card.  It looks more stark white in the picture than it is in person.  It is really a confetti cream paper and looks wonderful with the colors from the leaf.
First try.  I just painted Midnight Muse in the embossed image.  I liked the sheer effect but then I had an idea.
This is the second one.  I used Crystal Effects and a drop of Midnight Muse ink.  I am thinking that I like this jar the most. Not finished with it yet but getting the rough layout together.

Just a little over a month left on the Late Night Stampers Treasure Hunt.  I do hope you check out all the great blogs and find your clues.  Be sure to turn them in by October 31 to be entered in the drawing.  In the mean time Happy Hunting.
